Germans are ahead of the game here, what is going on. It is only rational to assume a country on the right path is going to overcome challenges quicker. The facts are the rest of the world has been ahead of us for years. It is not because they did a better job, well it is. But they took the jewel from our crown because we let them take the lead. I do not want to mention Jimmy Carter right now, but some would say I-TOLD-YOU-SO.
Germany is taking an ambition approach to carbon surplus. The German Research Centre of Geosciences has started a 2 year project to store 60,000 tons of CO2 underground. They will inject holding shafts with carbon up to 600 Meters down.
Another keyword for the project is: CO2-SINK
The project is going down in Ketzin, Germany. The structures that will hold the carbon will be locked inside of salt water shafts. These shafts have very porous rocks that over time will absorb the carbon build up. Talk about cheating our way out of carbon responsibility. Another spit in the bucket in the right direction at least!
