Texas approves major new wind power project

In what experts say is the biggest investment in the clean and renewable energy in U.S. history, utility officials in the Lone Star State gave preliminary approval Thursday to a $4.9 billion plan to build new transmission lines to carry wind-generated electricity from gusty West Texas to urban areas like Dallas. This project is a great step forward in the right direction. The project is slated to launch with the potential to power 1.3 million homes around the metropolitan Dallas area. This project is significant because oil tycoons are taking the responsibilities into their own hands!
